1. For the opener to operate correctly the Xtreme Garage® photo eyes must be installed. Only Xtreme brand photo eyes and Xtreme brand wiring with work with Xtreme Garage® door openers. Refer to page 14 of the owners manual.

2. The photo eyes need to be properly aligned. Refer to page 15 of the owners manual for alignment instructions.
1. The Xtreme Garage® professional series openers will only operate with the Xtreme brand wall panel. The wall panel needs to be installed using Xtreme Garage® brand wiring. Refer to page 19 of the manual for installation instructions.
1. The Xtreme Garage® professional series opener MUST BE PROGRAMMED before it will operate. Programming instructions are located on pages 16-19 of the owners manual. You must complete every step of the programming for the opener to operate correctly.
Is the Xtreme Garage® Opener installed on a 7ft garage door or smaller? Standard Xtreme Garage® door openers work with up to 7ft tall garage doors. An 8ft extension kit is available at your local Menards® store.
 
GARAGE DOOR OPENER TROUBLESHOOTING SOLUTIONS!
All hooked up but nothing works
  1. Photo eyes hooked up and lit? (Page 14)  
  2. Have not programmed the travel or force. (see above)
  3. Wall button lock-out engaged
  4. Bad electrical outlet or breaker.
Trolley or trolley shaft hits the pulley
  1. Did not start with screwdriver setting, trolley to close to the door when door closed (Page 6, Figure 2)
  2. Need to re adjust the travel or force (see above)
  3. Check chain / belt tension
Door moves up when you press the down button or visa-versa
Door opens but does not close
  1. Photo eyes not aligned properly, page 15.
  2. Photo eye wiring installed incorrectly, page 14.
Door closes or moves down when photo beam is obstructed
  1. Belt installed on the wrong side of the rail, page 6.
Door moves in a jerking motion / belt or chain slips on the sprocket
  1. Belt tension needs to be tightened. Page 7, 1/4" may not be enough depending on the door size & type and door spring tension. Tighten belt or chain until it no longer slips.
  2. An obstruction in the rail or a door roller issue.
When the door closes, the rail bends upwards
  1. Garage door arm is at too vertical of an angle and the trolley is too close to the pulley. See page 11, figure 1
Opener does not close and beeps
  1. The photo eye may be obstructed, not properly aligned or installed, check connection and alignment on page 14 & 15
Opener does not respond to remote
  1. Refer to page 21 to reprogram remote
  2. Check the batteries in the remote
Opener stops before reaching full open or close position
  1. Travel limit is not properly adjusted, check adjustment referring to pages 16 - 19. Conduct safety reverse test after any adjustment.
The door reverses unintentionally
  1. Make sure the photo eye safety system is aligned and clear of obstruction.
  2. Refer to page 4 to check the door balance.
  3. Refer to page 16 - 19 to re-adjust travel limits and travel force adjustment.
The door reverses upon touching the floor and the courtesy light flashes
The opener does not close door and the indicator on one of the photo eyes flashes
  1. The photo eye safety system is misaligned or obstructed, refer to page 15 for proper alignment.
The opener is working properly but the courtesy light does not turn on
  1. Replace light bulb (A19 incandescent Max. 100w)
The courtesy light does not turn off and opener does not operate
  1. Wall panel light button pushed on. Push light button on wall panel to turn off light, page 19.
  2. If not wall panel call customer support.
The opener hums as the trolley hits the trolley stop bolt in open travel
  1. Make sure the trolley is towards the trolley stop bolt.
  2. Disconnect the trolley by using the emergency release.
  3. Close the door manually.
  4. Relieve the chain/belt tension by loosening both the shaft linker and the flange nut (see page 6-7)
  5. Operate the opener so the trolley shaft travels towards the door (trolley should be kept disconnected.)
  6. Refer to page 16 to decrease UP limit
  7. Refer to page 6-7 to re-tighten the chain/belt until it is 1/4" (6mm) above the base of the rail (reference the figure shown on page 6)
  8. Repeat the above steps if the trolley still hits the stop bolt.
 
ACCESSORY TROUBLESHOOTING SOLUTIONS!
Handheld transmitter or wireless keypad does not program
1. Check the batteries in the device. Refer to page 21 of the manual.
2. Holding the learn button in too long or taking more than 30 seconds to complete the programming cycle.
Will Xtreme Garage®GDO's work with universal remotes and accessories?
Due to Xtreme Garage® Door Products use of advanced technology current universal remotes and keyless entries
are NOT COMPATIBLE. Xtreme Garage® Door Openers will only work with Xtreme Garage® Door Opener brand accessories.
Wall control panel does not operate the door
  1. Make sure vacation lock is in the unlock position. Refer to page 19 in the manual.
  2. Check wall control panel connection on back of the opener.
